About Tryla Netball Trial Scheduler...

Tryla™ is a powerful yet easy-to-use Excel tool that helps netball clubs plan and manage their trials efficiently. It automatically builds your round-by-round court boards, balancing players, positions, and courts — saving volunteers hours of manual work.

Tryla has no limit on total club size and can be reused across multiple age groups, with capacity applying per trial session.

✍️ Getting Started

Just enter your player details, player names and up to three preferred positions. You can also add Seeding (Tryla full users only) if you wish to avoid top ranked players matching up with lower ranked players.

You can easily paste your player list straight from your registration data (for example, a PlayHQ report). Then set your preferences:

Number of rounds (up to 20) and number of courts (up to 2)
Whether to include player numbers
Whether to display position preferences and seeding on your court boards

⚙️ What Tryla Can Handle

Tryla has been developed by experienced netball selectors for real world trials:

Up to 200 players per trial session (Tryla full) or 80 players per session (Tryla lite)
Up to 2 courts
Up to 3 position preferences per player
Smart and fair balancing across rounds and courts
Minimum 3 games per player (with a warning if this can’t be met)
Optional seeding logic (Tryla full only)
Optional player numbering (Tryla full only)

🧩 Court Boards

Tryla automatically generates court boards by position so you can see who’s playing where in each round. Manual edits are easy — just use the dropdown lists.

Built-in checks help you stay organised:

Duplicate players resulting from manual adjustments appear in red font
Seeding mismatches show in blue (Tryla Full only)

You can print court boards in two views:

Match-Up View – shows opposing players side by side
Straight-Order View – lists both teams in GS–GK order

A blank board is also included so you can print blank rounds, or create your own match ups using the dropdown lists.

📊 Game Tally & Schedule

The Player Game Tally sheet shows how many games each player has been allocated and ensures fairness across courts and positions (using a ratio of 45:40:15 for Position Preferences 1, 2, and 3).

The Schedule sheet clearly displays which players are in each round, and can be sorted by round, court, player name, or position.

🔢 Optional Seeding and Player Numbers (Tryla Full only)

Optional player seeding will ensure that top ranked players are not matched up against lowest ranked players, making your trial games fairer.

If you’re trialling large groups of unfamiliar players, you can assign player numbers to make tracking easier.

Tryla can automatically assign numbers (optional).
If you’ve already numbered your players, Tryla keeps those intact.
